Welcome, to Sylva First United Methodist Church! We are thankful and delighted you have chosen to worship with us. Below are some frequently asked questions and answers. - What is worship like?
- We worship beginning at 9:55 am on Sunday mornings. Come a little early for fellowship, coffee, and treats! Our worship style is combined; some Sundays we have more traditional music and some a little more contemporary.
- What about my kids?
- We love kids at Sylva FUMC!
- We offer Nursery beginning at 9:45.
- Following the children's message (every Sunday except the first- we have Holy Communion and practice Family Worship), kids are invited to Children's Church for an age-appropriate lesson in the Asbury Room.
- We also hold spiritual growth classes at 11:15 between September and May.
- Where do I park?
- You may use our parking lot located between Jackson and King Streets or on-street parking along Jackson Street.
- What do I wear?
- Come as you are! We have folks in our congregation who dress in their "Sunday best," and others who may wear shorts or jeans. We are here to worship God!
